The 100 Long wheelbase and 90 short wheelbase landrovers are the transport backbone of all H.M. Armed forces. Apart from driving the vehicle over the combat course, participants will also complete a trials course towing a loaded ¾ ton Sankey Trailer Heavy Metal

Good fun, although they dont mention the Saracen in the pic though
The fun thing was the multi wheel vehicles can do better than tracks sometimes depending on the driver. We had Stalwarts ammo carriers and Abbot Self Propelled guns in Germany, The abbot being a 432 Tracked personal carrier with an artillery turret on it.
The Stalwarts often had to pull the Abbots out of the crap
Spent about a year following a tracked command post around in a 101 ambulance, the only problem is when the driver of the tracks forgets not everybody has tracks. Then he had to come back and drag me out :wink:

Maybe they have a bunch of 101FCs, or maybe they just can't type. Proof reading at it's finest.

Seen a Stalwart on it's side after mis-judging a hill top while having a bit of fun off-roading... the drivers face was perfect.... wish i had my camera at the time. Pull the Stalwart out and he just carried on.... Don't you just love the bigger vehicles for there ability to keep going, you just collect bigger dents.... :D

Has anyone heard of a 101 with trailer, modified trailer axle and extra driveshaft for a 6 wheel drive 101 and trailer? I've heard rumours of it but never heard anything confirmed. I know someone that went out off-roading with a sankey trailer attached to a 90, loads of fun when he got stuck and had to reverse out of something.... But we all laughed and helped... He did have the trailer full of water... was trying to get round without spilling much..... Well he is a bit of a nutter.... :lol:

There's one at Gaydon for a start. Rubbery-Ownes was one of the hopeful manufacturers but I think someone else made the first batch. there are a couple of website with info, just do a search on 101fc and they usually come up.
