Title: Disc judder.....or not.....
Post by: dave_2A_2.25Turbo on July 14, 2009, 22:23:01
On an N plate 300tdi, I am getting a 'pulsing' effect under braking - felt only through the brake pedal.  Not bad, but there.  'Ah - warped disc' - but jacking eac=h wheel  up in turn, 'driving' & braking doesn't give the same symptoms.  Anyone got any suggestions?

Not sure you can replicate the dynamics odf a vehicle driving by lifting each wheel and spinning it. so I'd still be thining warped discs.

However, an outside idea might be the ABS system playing up? After all... it works by pulsing the braking system.

If can be caused by a combination of disks or by a softness in a localised area of aone or more disks so that it only shows up when hot.

an abs problem would give a definate symptom and would not be confused with a warped disc.

the chances of feeling a warped disc with the wheels of the grown are minimal unless it was a very warped disc. but if it was very warped you would recognis it under normal driving conditions.

i would tend to think it was waped discs tho as you probably know the feel of your truck very well and notice very minor changes in characteristics.

failing that, check the state of your tyres for uneven wear or flatspots.

still think it sounds like warped discs tho!
