For general off road use I reccomend BF Goodrich Mud Terrains, as they are excellent both on and off road. Im not a fan of their AT's because they seem to move too much on the road. We put General Grabber AT2 tyres on Poppy and they are ten times better, on and off road.

Funny you should say that, I replaced my worn out Good Year GT4s with some BFG at (borrowed form Blue) to tow the 'van this weekend (muddy field) and I noticed it doesn't handle as well unless I pump the tyres right up.

Damn good tyres for grip though, in almost any conditions.

I ran BFG A/Ts for two years, never had any trouble on road. It handled better with those than with the road tyres it had before. They were great for rock and gravel but not so hot in mud - I switched to Insa Turbo Dakars and apart from the dreaded wet grass I've not had any trouble.

I want to switch to 245/75 R16s next time, as that looks to be the largest that will fit on a stock height Disco with a camel cut. Only snag is that the only mud pattern I can find in that size is the Kumho KL71, which I've not heard anything about?

hi guys, thanks for the advice, will make my mind up soon, the kumo's are supposed to have soft side walls, dont know how true that is though.

After all that I have a set of 35 x 12.5 Mastercraft Coursers on the the Disco and I am very impressed with them.
I had never heard of them before but they are wearing well and have good manners on road and are excellent off road.

This has absolutley nothing to do with the original question though.

How about Maxxis Buckshot Mudders from Camskill??
similar pattern to BFG M/T but a fraction of the price and theyre not remoulds.
i have a set and am very impressed with them thus far both on and off road

khumos do have a reputation for being rather timid on the tyre walls, tho i had khumo ventures on my jeep and had no problems,
but have been running bfgoodrich mts for 4 years on my disco's and have had no problems whatsoever!!

I've just put Pirelli Scopion ATRs on mine - look nice - but the handling when cornering is quite 'vague' compared to the previous OE fit Scorpion STs  :'( - unfortunately not in production anymore...

 - maybe it's just that I've got tread blocks now instead of slicks  :-k

Not D2 but I run my 200TDI on standard width Cooper ST,s. After worn out Goodyears they are exalant on and off the hard top. Plus they look quite agresive with out much noise. I havnt been stuck in two years and i have tryed wery hard some times
