If it does it again pull the wire off the stop solenoid. If it stops you have a problem with the ignition switch. If it doesnt stop the solenoid might be blocked.
There are cases when the engine is shot and it runs on the oil from the sump.

usually rev to distruction though dont they .

check the wire running to the stop solinoid for cracks as far as you can and replace it if it is worn as you have fitted a new solinoid it can only be the wire me think so try that i had soame prob on my 200tdi done as stated and mines been fine since :D

dont keep a lot of fuel in it at any time and itll stop eventually......

When you replaced the stop solenoid did you pump diesel thru (using lift pump) to make sure there is not blockages from swarf?
You may find that there is swarf from the injection pump beaking down inside which will block the stop solenoid and prevent it from actually cutting the fuel off.
You can use one of the extending magnets to remove the swarf but this is only a remporary measure. Had to replace one of mine a few years back due to the same issue.
Take the solenoid off again and use the lift pump prime handle to pump a bit of fuel thru. Dip a magnet inside and clear out swarf etc. It will stop fine for a while till the swarf comes back.
