see i have had conflicting views on this as when i had a rangie i got told use a 20/50 as 15/40 could cause sludging then someone else told me they use 1o/30 hence the confusion, i have a plentiful supply of 15/40 as we use it in most of the machinery we sell i think i will try and see what it runs like

i use 20/50 with oil thickener cost £10 for an oil change,
£5 for the oil from haulfrauds n £5 for the wynns oil adative
-
shoot me down in flames but why not buy a thicker grade oil?
-
for the cost o the thicker & the fact i change it ever 3 events or 100 miles its not worth it

Our Rangie runs on 20w/50 because it drinks it. I buy 25l of Morris' oil and when it's all gone i swap the oil!
Later 3.9s were running on 15w/40 as 20w/50 was being phased out, in some climates 10w/30 can be used. As a rule of thumb I'd go to the thicker oil recomended for your car as it gets older, but never exceed it!

changed the oil today and gave the old girl a good flush out as well have used 15/40 mainly as i have a plentiful supply as we use it at work so i,ll see how it goes
