OK lets talk breakdown cover :-k
I have now been with the AA for 9 years and have recently received my renewal quote for the 10th. I have joint roadside assistance with my wife and in 9 years have called them out once which resulted in a quarter mile tow to a garage that I could of probably pushed myself to  So for 9 years loyalty and minimum cover with virtually no use they want relieve me of the grand sum of £83
Well they can go whistle!!! I could sign up as a new customer online and get exactly the same cover for £65 or go to RAC and get it for £59
It seems loyalty doesn't buy you much these days.
I was going to add relay this year since buying the 110 and intending to put some miles on it but I can get that with the RAC for only a few more quid than what this years renewal was. So unless they start making silly offers when I tell them where to stick it, it looks like I'll be one of those higher valued new customers to someone else.

I can get you roadside rescue and recovery anywhere in the uk for £76.50 and with a discount of 13 months for the price of 12
Let me know if you'd like more info and I'll send you a brochure and discount sticker.

There is one that frankie boy works for, they seem pretty reasonable - i will be taking up membership with them when my renewal comes through from the aa.
They are similar kind of money to your renewal, but it seems alot better type service!

i get roadside assistance and recovery for 32£

Frankie you have mail ;)
Potash who do you use then or is it tied in with your insurance company?
-
I must say I know the company Frank works for quite well having been a comercial customer AND contractor for..
The call handlers tend to be very good indeed. I was stuck in the hull floods in 2007 and the call handler was fantastic from my point of view he was more concerned about me that the company I worked for
If you want to avoid the big 2 breakdown outfits I would highly reccomend them

I use autoaid (£34). You have to pay initially any costs, but then claim them back. Doesn't cover parts but does cover recovery/labour. I'm averaging 2 callouts a year, even got recovered from a p&p site after blowing a diff and halfshaft!

Well just for the time being I'm going to wing for a few months. Unfortunately the last quarter of the year is always an expensive one for me as nearly everything needs renewing on the cars (tax, insurance, mots etc) as well as other yearly bills :'(
So after 9 years of no call outs how long do you give it before I have a major breakdown on the side of the road?

Then you'll think "why did i sell my Pajero"........

Won't be long if Penelope is anything to go by. She did that to me the other night on the way home from the MC meet - luckily RRB, Kizz and his dad were kind enough to pull up and help - thanks guys!
As a member of the Caravan Club, I will be taking out their Mayday cover - a trusted source has been very impressed with them!
