Originally posted in Caravan section but had no replies, hopefully due to lack of views in that area rather than lack of knowledge within the Mud Clubbers vast membership!! So here is the question for many more to see....
Does anybody know exactly how a Primus heating and hot water system works in a caravan?
Have got a few lines of instructions in Swedish but they make little sense, even after translation!!
Finding it extremely difficult to get any info even from t'internet.
Am waiting to hear back from the chairman of the British section of the "Polar Caravan Club" at the moment but thought I would see if any mud clubbers could help in the meantime [-o<

After some googling I understand Primus was taken over by 'Alde', Alde is now owned by Truma so Is this of any help?

Whats the trouble, we've got an Alde system on our boat the only time it's failed to work has been due to the thermocouple on the pilot light needing replacing.

Thanks Karlo. had found that much out and had a look through some online manuals already but not found what I needed,
after all this system is around 30 years old! Waiting for Alde to get back to me.
Piggysteve,
If I sent a couple of photos of the boiler and the control panel you could maybe tell me if it looks anything like your system, although I don't suppose many of this age have survived!
Have considered that it may need a new thermocouple but would like to understand how it should work before trying to get parts replaced...it may just be down to human error rather than a faulty part :? :)
