Title: swapping turbo cores

Is it possible to swap the internals from a disco 200tdi turbo into a defender 200tdi turbo?

They are the same turbo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

defender turbos have a different fitting to the manifold than disco's

But apart from that they are the same turbo,ie the cores are the same.

So the cores should swap over then.....good stuff

I've just ordered  T25 rebuild kit, they are only about 30quid , so I'm gonna attempt a rebuild at home, there's a few sites around with good how to's with pics on them, it doesn't look too difficult.....famous last words...I'll post some updates as and when the bits arrive and the jobs attempted..

the guy at west Wiltshire landrovers used to rotate disco turbo housing to fit a defender - need's to be redrilled which is probably the awkward bit - other than that I no idea what's involved.
