Hook the seat belt around the seat adjuster and try to ensure the seat belt has wound back.

Get one of the seat belt pads that velcro on to the belt, stops them getting damaged when you slam the door.

I'm on my 2nd belt due to ruining them via this, 3rd belt in total.

Oh and how many other defender owner here have any trousers with the rear belt loop in one piece? Virtually every pair I own have been hooked up and ripped on the door catch

Laughed out loud at this - I thought it was only me!!!!!!

Oh, and the seatbelts, I instinctively check they are clear before closing the door - only slam them in the catch 2 or 3 times a month now after 15 years of Defenders - doh!!! A

I tuck mine behind the tilt lever (bucket seat) but there is a guard you can buy thats stops it from catching most of the time

I had this problem because the belt didn't retract properly. New belts all around and its fine since. I had to swap the belts as they began to fray.

Regards the trouser loops been there. Although the 110 latch is better than the one on the 101 which was more like a clothes peg.

Think yourself lucky you weren'r wearing your mankini
