Hi guys, i could do with a bit of help please. Just picked up my 1st LR a nice D2 V8 auto & on the way home noticed that the hand brake, brake fluid light keeps flashing on & off. I will even come on if the door is shut hard when parked up. Checked the brake fluid level & it's at the top  Only thing I can think of is a poss broken brake pad warning censor wire, anyone got any ideas.
Many thanks
Neil

Neil,
As far as I know there are no brake pad sensors on the D2. I would start by looking at the switch on the handbrake itself. The wire there may be loose and causing the intermittant flashing.

Thanks wasn't sure if they were fitted or not  Ok how do I get to the hand brake switch, is it under the centre console arm rest bit sorry if it seems like a silly Q just having to find my way around things

Yeah, if you gently prise off the cover from around the window switches you can then remove the plate underneath. You should be able to see the switch from there.
Good luck

Cheers :D managed to get at the switch & all seems fine as I had a good wiggle of the wire & plug & the light didn't come on, cleaned up the contacts on the brake fluid res as they were a bit corroded but ithe light still keeps coming on now & again

Where the wires enter the top of the master cylinder, the can corrode, check the are not touching.

Managed to track it down to the brake fluid level sensor as when it's unplugged no flashing light :D
