Title: need a welding monkey!!!
Post by: didirangerover on October 04, 2009, 22:33:09: hi chaps. anyone near norwich who can weld the damned mot failing bloody RR on the cheap?
needs welding inner cills and something within 30 cm of the brake servo mounting and a a new rear x member putting in. i will get all the replacement bits just need some kind soul to weld the [!Expletive Deleted!] on!
having to drive my hubbies peugeot 106 with the obvious off roading problems.......no clearance or 4 wheel drive!
please save me.....i need my baby back on the road and as funds are tight cos i'm a student i can only get the work done a bit at a time.

take pity on a grounded mud clubber!

Post by: didirangerover on October 11, 2009, 22:22:31: have had a chap tell me he charges per patch and then he did that intake of breath that a lot of mechanics do just before they make you sign your soul away. may get the car over to a chap who quoted a mate £35/hour.
can drive it to be welded as it still has tax and insurance and so is covered for mot work as long as it's booked in!
i am at horsford just off A140 near norwich airport.

Post by: barmiebrumie on October 12, 2009, 13:34:30: What a shame your not near Brum, I do quite a bit of welding now for mudclubbers (BOC qualified), do it cheap as well as it is done part time now. £35 is not bad but if you can get someone to do it away from work as it were you should be able to get it done for about £20 to £25 pr/hr

i can come to you or your about a 40 min drive from my workshop, and i can tell you now ill not charge £35 an hour! all i as is that we do agree on a price, all consumables are payed for and lunch of somesort is provided :D

im free this sat but after that itll be the weekend after next
