Title: v8 running ruff

been to look at a v8 rangie today ,on tickover runs fine ,raise the revs misses and back fires ,
bummer cause nice motor any ideas or worse case scenario  ,its a 3.5 on twin su s standard filters..  :P :P

i would say the timing is out, needs setting up on a timing strobe

Could just be plugs or points/dizzy ie electrical!

As Ben says, timing may be out (try loosening the dizzy and twisting slightly, but make sure you mark the dizzy to ensure you can return it to the original point if needed), or one or both of the diaphragms in the carbs are knackered.

If it's cheap enough it might be worth fixing.  One thing could be the diaphram on the dizzy, you're looking at £45 for the diaphram or £135 for a dixxy, approx.
