Title: dodgy road spring ....?
Post by: The Electrician on November 14, 2009, 22:21:11
I have a 120k 300tdi XS on a 96 plate, an everytime I hit a speed bump at more than walking pace the front right suspension thumps the car like tyson, but there is no excessive bounce so, I am assuming that the shocks are fine but the spring is shot.

would that seem right ?

If so, I would rather change all four springs for standard height heavy duty ones (don't want to put a lift kit on it) and all four shocks while i'm at it, as it seems silly not to.

any advice would be good.

(any good springs for sale ? ....pm me)

Check the bushes on the front shocks and the radius arms for loose or worn bushes.

I'm with you on that, makes sense.

Iv had a front shock ware it's bush so bad I lost the bush and it sounded a lot like you describe.

After 120k a new set of shocks and springs will transform the ride, you my find that HD ones will make it very hard though.
