Title: P&P Insurance
Post by: BigBlueBeast on November 16, 2009, 20:36:50
I have just had an e-mail off someone about a P&P I am organising for next month. He states that I need an insurance policy which will cover me offroading. Even with my car insurance, and it being on private land, is another cover required? I know I am covered for greenlanes as they are classed as public right of ways and roads!

HELP before I get done or maybe not!

If you are running it then you need Public Liability Insurance at the very least. If you are doing it as a member of a Club then they should have it already.

As above, look for 1 - 2 million cover minimum.  It's incase some one gets injured on the site and rather than suing you for every penny you'll ever earn, the insurance company will foot the bill.

The day out is listed in events. I don't run the site, but I am organising the day. I have arranged to have the site open for us on that day, I am sure the site owners/ runners have insurance for the site, but do I need insurance other than my standard insurance?

Have you confirmed with the site owners, quite often they will require that the event organisers supply insurance.

Yes i think you will need public liability but is not as bad as you think have a ring round.
