ive now got a 200tdi disco engine for my defender and have a couple of questions:
what engine mounts do i need- defender or disco?
what airbox do i need- defender or disco, if its defender is there a diference between 2.5td, 200 and 300tdi or will any of them fit?
im sure these questions have been asked on here many times before, but thanks in advance for any answers, William

Use the defender engine mounts
airbox is up to you, I used the 2.5td and it fits right inside the wing but what ever you can get.
Go to someone like RGB and pick bits you want

Use an k&n ,big difference!
-
rgb, take its a breakers? where abouts is it?
might get a k and n, got 1 in in my td5
thanks for the quick replies, William

as said use defender engine mounts but they bolt onto engine using other set of holes not same as disco mounts u will need to get oil cooler pipes extended power steerin pipes extended if usin disco ones an u will have to lower rad mounts on front of ya chassis an easiest way to get round exhaust mod is to change turbo 2 a 300 one an use standard downpipe then an u will get a bit more power too an then it will be just a case of makin intercooler pipes up if it had a td in it first use td oil cooler pipes an all fuel lines will screw in2 disco fuel filter housin

If not I think there is one out between Hertford & Luton, but I don't know the place or name

i would like to see some pics of the 300 turbo fitted to the 200 engine and exhaust if ya have any [-o<

thanks for the advice, iv got it easier than most as this is the second time its had this conversion done, just needed to know about the mounts as the old ones got thrown out  radiator, fuel pipes etc can just be cleaned and bolted back in
thanks for the link, i drove past the other breakers a few weeks ago, not sure exactly were it is, on a back road to kimpton i think, plumbed into sat nav as breakers so i can go straight there :)
getting the engine from a general breakers less than 3 miles from my workshop, sometimes you get lucky

to me its makes sense ( if possible for you ) fit a defender turbo 200tdi and inlet manifold, fits alot better, i did this at easter this year so far so good with the setup only had one problem so far which was the alternator bracket snapping :-k apparently its normal, fit a defender fan belt if you do the turbo mod, it allows you to raise the alternator enough to fit the turbo pipe under it
as far as i can tell that set up really works well, done alot of miles on it so far
cheers kieran

Did this conversion a few weekgo and we used the disco engine and manifolds and a kit off ebay with all the intercooler pipes and downpipe.
use the turbo d ocoopipes as they are the same at the engine end and if you remove the boss from the rad they will fit into the disco rad.
only fabrication was to the disco rad surround we left the chassis rad mounts alone and made the surround mounts flush.
took 2.5 days taking our time to wrap wires etc for a nice factory look.
