I recently bought a discovery 1. It came with a new pair of rock sliders that were not fitted to the vehicle. Yesterday i got round to seeing how they fit but found that the ones i have are for a 5 door disco but i have a 3 dr . Could they be adapted to fit by cutting off the sill plate for the rear doors or will i need to by some 3dr sliders?
I held them up under the sills but they seem to have very little clearence between the tyres and the sliders. Are the 3 door sills shorter than the 5 dr and how much clearence shuld there be??

There is a small gap inbetween my sliders and tyres and it's a 5 door, depends how oversized your tyres are mine are 265/75/16's.

I'm not a big fan of sliders that bolt to the sills anyway, so cut that bit off.

Thanks for the help guys, I'll cut the rear section off then that should normally bolt to the rear door sills.
I also need a set of the metal plates that connect the slider mounting brackets to the chassis. Any idea where i would get some from?
I think my sliders are these ones.....http://www.safari-equip.co.uk/index.php?page=51

They look like the ones fitted to Blue. Take your time fitting them as mine weren't very well fitted and they are a bit pooTBH, any load and the flex into the wing.
