I'm just wiring up 4 roof lights using 2 relays with a switch controling each so i can use either 2 or all 4 lights. To keep a standard looking dash, Im trying to use extra fog light switches that i have obtained which fit in the auxiliary sockets next to the cup holders but I am struggling to wire them up.
There are spaces for 5 wires to go into each switch, numbered 1 - 5. Does anyone know which ones to use. I think 1 and 4 are for the switch but when i wire them this way the lights only work intermittantly, as if there is a bad connection somewhere. Do i need to wire up the other 3 sockets in the switch?

I would imagine the connections are (in no particular order)
Circuit in
Circuit out
Earth
Green Dashboard Illumination
Orange Switch Illumination
Use one of these (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Gunson-Led-Automotive-Circuit-Tester_W0QQitemZ220490500262QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_BOI_Electrical_Test_Measurement_Equipment_ET?hash=item33564208a6)to test each wire.
