Took the head off a mates 2.5TD today, it was running well, burning oil on start up so we did the valve oil seals. Bit of a nasty surprise on removing the head, by the looks of the other pistons it has thrown a cam belt at some point as there is a valve imprint on two of the other cylinders.
I also found why my 2.5TD was blowing oil, There is a hair line fracture in one of the pistons which missed first time round .
One of the others looks a bit suspect so will probably do the lot. If one's gone then the others wont be far behind.
I wonder if I can get bulk discount on piston & Ring sets .

Wow!!
Where did you find the dinosaur fossel!!!

 Good job you found the dammage now rather than later.. still look on the bright side. When shes up and running again shell have a lot more torque and run a hell of a lot better. :D

Oooh nasty.
I was lucky just rebuilding the pistons back into the lightweight, after re-ringing it, luckily thats all it needs (hopefully) already decoked the head, I'm hoping this is the end of the oil burning 2-stroke lightweight

What sort of condition are the TD's in and what sort of price are you looking for? May be interested.
Cheers
