Title: Auto Gearbox problem
Post by: daveh on April 09, 2005, 20:30:38
Kick down is fine, up changes are fine, at 40 mph only, lower speeds are also fine, there is a reluctance to slide down from 4th to 3rd accompanied by a little noise and vibration. All other downshifts are OK. It has been suggested that an auto oil change and cleaning some obscure filter in the box may cure it. Any ideas gratefully accepted, also whether this is a job for an arthritic or is it going to cost!!!!..............Cheers........Dave

Oil change is a definate for a start, see what colour the oil is

If you dont know when it was last done, play safe
