Hello again folks, not really sure where to post this so here goes I own both at the moment but one has to go, and I just cant decide which one to have, the 90 is kitted with winch lift kit snorkel 31" tyres etc and the trooper is standard, but would lift and put bigger wheels on it and winch and snorkel. the trooper is my every day truck cause the Landy is broke it took some water in wading. now my option is do I fix the Landy and use that everyday again or do my mods to trooper. I use my vehicle everyday for work with some greenlaning at weekends. so I need it to be reliable. witch concerns me about the 90 the reliability, any opinions would be grateful thank you. Casper

fix the 90, iv had a 2.8td izuzu, td5 110 and a toyota 2.4 and been in a 3.1td trooper alot, and nothing comes close to a 200tdi. iv got one sitting on my hoist waiting to be mated to a truck and i cant wait for it to be ready
also more economical than the trooper and easier to fix ;)

i know that you mean i am just worried about the reliablity or the landy!
-
the landy is reliable ;) keep the landy you know it makes sense
-
yep keep the landy if you mod the trooper it will break as well and the costs to repair will be a lot higher than those of the 90.
-
keer the trooper and give me the 90.... simples ;) ;) ;)

i found the perfect cure for all this keep both and let the misses use one for everyday best of both worlds :D

No it wont.
That's the beauty of the troopers, they are well built.
The down side is the poor economy of the 3.1

There's so much off-the-shelf stuff for the 90, can all those owners be wrong?
You don't say specifically but I guess you are downsizing from 2 cars to 1, in which case you will obviously have to make compromises in obe role or the other.
If I had one to start with, I'd want a trick 90 but being 6'2" I'd want to try the trooper as a daily driver for a while first.

im 6foot5 and find a defender more comfotable to drive than a rrc- i hit my head and right leg in a rangey, after fitting a small steering wheel im my defenders i just bash my knee every so often, but not much. the trooper i drive has good room alround, but feels too low, like im surronded by the car, rather than being above it like in a defender.

Got a 3.0 Trooper (SWMBO wouldn't let me have a Defender :() ... very capable beast in most conditions.
Was trying to manoeuvre the horse trailer & got stuck yesterday in the snow down by our stables cause it doesn't have a diff-lock though - diagonal wheels had lost traction - some rugs and blankets got us out easily enough.
I'd recommend going for the TDi.
