when previously offroad after hitting a bump the hazrads come on and wont turn off until you restart car, any ideas cheers

Engine immobiliser or spider (if 300TDi) my nates does the same except his fully immobilises.  :roll:

my 300tdi disco is exactly the same it still runs but you have to switch the engine off to cancel the hazard lights, its just another quirky landy thing

If it is the spider I have a spare bypass cable you can have.  It get rids of the module completly and should stop it happening again.

Mine only used to do that when I whacked the Rear Plow pretty hard but as previously stated just turn off engine and back on again and it stopped it... 

Since Ive removed the plow now for a removable hitch no problems since...

It's because the car thinks it's had a bump.  The part is probably a generic rover group part and not specific to a car that is built for a few little knocks.

as long as its just the hazards and not the airbags i dont rely mind lol  :shock:

This happens on a friend of mine's 1997 300Tdi - whenever a mobile phone sends/recieves any data from the network (changes cells, calls, messages, etc.).....!!!!!   :lol: :lol:

We cured it by wrapping the ECU unit in Foil.  You have to get a lot closer to the car for the central locking to work, but he can now use his hands-free kit without the hazards coming on!!  :dance:
