Hi
My haynes is two counties away and this light has come on, and off on my RRC 3.5 auto, it is on the bottom row in the middle, its orange and the symbol is a circle with 4 dashes down each side, i've check the tranny fluid level which was OK now I'm baffled, any ideas??

seeing as a circle is involved i would guess that its brake related!! :-k :-k
Have you checked fluid level?
-
Yes, I pulled the brake fliud sensor out of the resevoir and it triggered the light to the right of the mystery light.
-
i would say its ABS or Traction Control related, or maybe brake pad wear light
is it this one (google is king)

well done Ben thats the light, must be brake wear as there is no traction control or abs....
-
I'm not sure that light is even connected on Blue, that's manual though.
I think the brake wear lights up the bottom left :-k

oh yer you could be right RRB,
-
brake warning light is bottom right...
unsure on the middle one...i will consult my book of lies :-k

after quick look about, it is the brake pad wear indicator.
if you have genyouwhine pads fitted it will have two wires in it that contact the disc and make a circuit when the pads get low.
-
Thxs Squaddie, think you have it cracked, I don't have genuine pads so no wires but have been ploughing through 3-4' drifts and everything is caked solid in ice. so it is probably shortying out in the plugs....
-
IIRC the system should indicate a fault unless the circuit is complete, so that you know if the wires break etc. Probably why ours is not wired up then

Mine isa similar vintage to Blue ;)
I have removed the padwear sensors as they are rubbish, the wires caught upin branches and got broke..... so I put earlier model pads on without the sensor (1/2 price too)
The light never came on, it works by earthing on the disk when the pad is low.
Bottom left is handbrake and bottom right is fluid level
Just checked handbook (just so I dont get it wrong) and it agrees

Then I'm thinking of something else.
Anyway, we have an answer :D
