Title: diesel heater

ive got a discovery 2 and i want something to make it really warm inside as mine sleeps out in the cold and when its cold it freezes up on the inside so does anyone knowif i can get a diesel heater to come on a timer to warm the water system up then trigger the heater fan inside the car to de mist the window while im fast asleep

plan b is a timer to start the engine

Yeap, WEBASTO, you can get modules with timers, remote controls etc, they run from the "spill" line on your engine so every time the engine runs they refill.

you could also get a mains heater, cheaper but less flexible.

The timer unit on the Webasto can be wired up tot he blower motor too for a nice clear windscreen.

i were lookin at warm air heater to like put in the storage locker in the rear mine only 5 seats but i thought one that heated the water up so car is warm when it goes off 
swmbo makes me get up to defrost it cuz she is only 4ft 10 and cant reach the bottom of the screen never mind the top little does she know i start it and go in and watch tv lol

na got runlock fitted (same thing as on recovery trucks and fire engines) start it with the key press a button and remove the key leave it runnin if someone gets in and tryes to drive off it kills the engine as soon as the gear leaver is moved out of park or the hand break took off or the foot break pressed handy really put that on last year when i heard if u lock it with the key in insurance is void

Just remeber that it's illegal to leave a running vehicle with no one in it on the highway ;)

Agreed - I know for a fact.

I stopped at a mate's hose, left the motor running and walked down the drive. A few minutes later, a passing copper "explained" the situation to me.

yea leaveing a engine running is not the best idea but the poilice do it so its a case of do as i say not as i do i guess
i know that the disco td5 from the factory did have a per heater on some models as ive heard it goes up near there turbo on the left side of the engine id like it too look standard but they are bloody dear might just bodge one off a boat in the same place and duct it inside

Emergency Service's can leave the engine running and claim exemption under the road traffic Act!!
