Just done some work on my truck, and bought some one shot grease for the swivels..... trouble is, i can't see any sort of crain plug to let the old stuff out.......... mine is a 98 disco 1......... are the later swivels different top the earlier lones in that they don't have a drain plug..?>?

Might be you need to take out one of the bottom bolts holding the swivel seal.

Second that.

Don't know about models that new, are they filled with one shot at the factory? because if it's EP90 then it still needs changing and there should be a drain facility somewhere.
I'd be interested to know if you find out.

There is certainly no drain plug as per the haynes book of lies..............

funny you should say this. i was looking online earlier today about oil/gear oil volumes etc to service my disco 1. and there was a small print in there saying that upto a certain year landrover themselves changed the gear oil for this everlasting grease that didnt require maintenance. just wish i knew what the site was cos i cant find it. think there is something mentioned in the haynes manual too. might be worth speaking to land rover guys in person.
