My cloth 300 seats look awful - will a set of TD5 front seats fit in the front ? mine is a 3 door , will 5 door seats fit ?or have i got to hunt for a clean pair of 300 seats rather than the nicer td5 seats ?
thanks !

If your seats are on the 'wide base' i.e. the frame is spot welded to the floor / gearbox tunnel and the trim wraps round the front of the seat with the little removable flap then probably yes the TD5 (or RRC) will fit - if the base is the tubular metal type that is bolted to the floor then you'll need to do some fabrication to get the later ones to fit.

humm its just a 1997 series 1 disco - 3 door seats ' hinged' to tilt forward / back , i cant see any bolts or any welds !

 sorry, should have read that bit about being a 3 door!
Are the seat runners a good 4 or 5 inches in from the side of the seat and the tilt base about 12 inches wide? If so then it's only early disco seats to replace the existing with.
You can fabricate a plate that bolts to the existing base that you can then virtually bolt any seat to but you'll need to watch you don't restrict the lever for tilting the seat.

I have some heavy duty seat covers for the front seats of discos with the hand grips in the head rests. Cost £70 but will sell for £30. They are water proof and are made for the shape seat so a really tight fit. Might be easier than changing the seats?
