recommended wading depth is 20 inches according to Land Rover, this woudl be on a standard D2, with wading breathers snorkel etc you could go much deeper if you wanted

ive done head light deep in a starndard disco 2 but i would not advise it
so i bought a snorkel and axle beathers and then went deeper as in above the bonnet about 3 inch up the wind screen and i know a disco 2 will float lol

yea not for long as they fill up with water
do u know the gaps in the bottom of the door seals fill them up with some black silicone as water comes in there really fast if u happen to need to stop
and also block the dump valve style thing up on the bottom of the air box as that lets water in to the air box

Depends! If crossing a fast flowing ford you will go downstream with the current.

i dont know what it is about off roading that keeps me doin it. its a big drain on money the feeling i like is goin up a really steep hill and all u can see is sky.  the other one i like is when u go to go down a hill and u cant even see the track your goin down. the only feeling i cant be bothard with is getting stuck then its out with the heavy stuff to drag the thing out.
ah thats another thing dont go putting shackels on ur front towing eye it wont take any sort of abuse you will rip it off

were the disco 1 is bolted on with 4 bolts i think
the disco 2 is bolted with  only 2 blots  thats on the early disco 2 i dont know what the face lift is like they might of made it stronger
