Title: Oil cooler leaking
Post by: JumboBeef on February 01, 2010, 11:37:06
Following on from here where I replaced one of my oil cooler pipes, (http://www.mud-club.com/forum/index.php/topic,74619.0.html) the oil cooler itself has now started leaking

I rang my local LR dealer: £185 + VAT
Paddocks want £100 + VAT
Craddocks will only supply LR stock, so £185 + VAT, and they said that the cheaper part would be a 'cheap chinese import'.

What would you buy?  (We've had the Disco for nearly three years, it's good 'un and we have no plans to change it in the forseeable future.)

Also, what are the chances of me getting the other (original) pipe off the other end of the cooler without damaging it?

Couldn't wait any longer!  I've ordered the 'cheap' one (it's a Britpart, wish me luck!)  They say they have only sold two in the last three years, but have had no returns.

Should be fine, they don't tend to be an issue anyway so a replacement should last fine.

Well, fitted it   Took less than an hour.

Looks good quality, and the leak has stopped, so I'm a happy bunny
