Title: Slow flashing
Post by: jkseries on February 09, 2010, 12:33:31
Why do my indicators flash slowly?

It's almost like the flasher unit needs to warm up. At the beginning of the journey they flash slowly and then get better as the journey continues.

Odd stuff.

Have you tested your battery voltage? is it low and does the alternator put out more than 12v?? going upto 14+ volts when the engine is reved?

Sometimes the alternators go faulty and only push out about 12v max so the battery runs down and by the time the car starts its pretty low and things start to go a bit funny, dull lights slow indicators etc,

after a driving for a while the alternator struggles to get the battery backup to 12v which improves the the indicators etc BUT the battery never gets its full charge and so the cycle begins again.

I may be totally talking throgh my backside but its worth checking.

Nice one. I'll put a multimeter on it.

Cheers
