Er indoors has decided to learn to drive, so me in heinsight have seen a future problem
1. Shes gonna want a car
2. She won't drive a Discovery
3. I can't afford to run two cars day to day
So heres my solution
1. Sell the Disco
2. Get myself a some cheap commuter transport (motorbike) :)
3. Buy er a boring run of the mill "family car" :(
4. Buy myself a cheap 3 series to do up in my garage and run the odd weekend. :)
Ok you've heard my boring pitch
What i wanna know is wats my car worth :? cos i ain't got a clue
1990 200Tdi Discovery
140,000 miles
Dec 04 serviced
Dec 04 new brakes all round
Dec 04 new exhaust
includes rocksliders, mantec snorkel, rebel steering guard.
Its been off-road three times (not nearly as much as i wanted to take it)
So there u go wat do u recon :?: :?: :?:
-
If She wants a car let her buy one  (I recomend the £100 nova 1.1 pox box edition  )
Why should the misses wanting to drive alter your life and why won't she drive a discovery ??? send her on a driving course in it (off road) and you never know she might get the bug .
I have my Disco and the wife has the vectra I like the speed of the vectra but when I drive it it feels like my a*se is scraping on the ground I much prefer the ride in the Disco.
-
find her a very cheap car as most peps will bump crash in first year after passing then get better car after she gains confidence cheaper in long run
-
Well it made me laugh....
The wife says One has to go it's either her or the car.
God I'm going to miss her.
Ed
-
You certainly would Ed.
Who would load the car and caravan??? :?
-
Eh ED r u questioning who wears the trousers in my house................
Nah i just got a very heavy mortgage and a very crap job, so if i wanna keep the disco i could only afford to use it on the odd occasions :( ,
I could always sell the kids i suppose ?
-
Ah, there is the solution "kids" - plural..... how many do you actually need???  One is useful from time to time, allows you to buy toys that you REALLY want without embarasment and gets you a family ticket into some places. But more than that is just showing off
Or you could always sell an organ..... given multiple kids, could I suggest one?? :P
-
I don'y have a organ.....i was never any good at music :!:
:D :D :D ................ok i'll shut up now
-
Try her in a series 3 88"
Or a road legal quad bike
-
Julie [-X
Angie says "How's the foot?"
Ed
-
Hey' Dave,
Should that be "I wear the trousers around here because she says I can!"
:)
Ed
-
So does anyone dare give me some sort of price for me disco
-
Book price gives for 89-94 £1155 - £2780.
For your year and millage I'd say £2500 given that it might appeal to the more off road market with the mods fitted.
You could remove sliders and steering guard and sell them privately :?:
In reasonable nic there're still a good solid reliable motor and easily serviced with plenty of used parts available.
-
