Title: Problem with Petrol Pressure washer Engine
Post by: carbore on February 21, 2010, 20:21:05
I have a Karcher pressure washer with a Tamagoichi? (Or similar) Engine.

Tried to start it after a long period of non-use and no go. The spark plug was very oily and when tipped the plug hole had a lot of oily stuff coming out (oil)

Now im confused as its a 4stroke?, there is an oil port with dipstick. I can only assume that A) Sometime in the past I have been dumb and put some 2 stroke mix in it. B) its knackered. I thought that as its a 4strroke it would not EVER leak oil out of the plug hole unless the rings were totally shot.

Although ti was s/hgand it worked fine for several jobs last year?

Any ideas, currently its draining out int he shed and will be given a clean wiht petrol and try again. Thanks.

I think you find certain Tamagotchi pets could starve or die in less than half a day from lack of care.

the problem will be with the piston rings, they will gum up with oil, carbon deposits, and then the rings will stick, losing compression, and, when you pull it over it will drag oil up and fill the bore up,tip it out, clean it out with petrol, and then put a little diesel or 3 in one oil down the plug port, turn the engine slowly a c ouple of turns, leave it a while, then tip it out, getting it all out, drain the oil,put new oil in with a new plug,it'll be ok,hopefully, lol.

Tecumseh ? engine....

My lawnmower does the same if you tip it the wrong way  :-. clean it up and fill the oil and its OK... ish after running a while it burns oil residue and all is good.

If you tip them the wrong way oil will get into the cylinder, carb and air filter

Take the air filter out and check it, if it's got oil in it then that could be your problem

Clean the air filter, top up the engine with oil and pull it over a few times with the spark plug out replace plug NGK BM6A probably and it should be ok
