I have seen this bumper in a couple of Landy pictures and I thinks its very smart. Can anyone tell me about it as all I have seen are pictures of peoples landys like this one taken from an ebay auction.

A nice stainless steel bar but it is not the same as the one in the top picture.
-
The one in the original picture is an non-air con type. A defender with Air con has protruding grill.... which is the type shown in the second picture.
You want the non-Air con type, which is further down the page, but not shown with the stainless bumper.

this one....
-
the one in the picture you want is a non air con one, mounted on the top of the bumper.
Regards Ian.

i do like that bumper and A bar but if you are going to off-road and catch it then it will go rusty then it wont look very nice. :D :D :D
-
will it???
do your knife and forks go rusty??? :D  :D
If it was a cheap chrome plated set then granted once scratched forever rusty.... but if a quality (i.e. decent) stainless steel then they should never rust, even if scratched... and a quick polish with a metal polish will soon see it being full on 'Bling' 8) again if it does tarnish slightly!!!!

It does look cool. I also noticed the bumper on an advert for landroverworld trading web site. It had a silver landy with this SS bumper and it does go so very well together. I did not notice the bumper end caps though.
-
The end caps are just standard Land Rover Defender TD5 ones, they were introduced at the same time as the TD5 was launched.... basically AFAIK to meet new pedestrian legislation.

You mean to do with sharp edges and risk of pedestrian injury from walking into bumper.
-
Something like that... in reality if you were to run somebody over in a Land Rover... it's going to hurt them regardless of the ends of the bumper being a bit sharp!!!
