Title: 200 tdi into early defender 90
Post by: R2D2 on March 07, 2010, 15:09:23
Hi folks  Have a 200 tdi disco 1 thats being scrapped and going to donate the engine to my bruv.

He has a 1985 B reg defender 2.5 n/a diesel and asked me if it is a straight swap.   8-[        So my questions are:

Is it a straight swap?
Do we go for drivetrain swap as well  ... any mods needed?
Does he need the radiators as well etc.?
Whats the pro's and con's?

Cheers.

Landrover used to sell the 200tdi as a crated retro fit kit to replace 2.5NA, so if you want to know exactly what is needed then consult the documentation for that.
