Remove or blank off the Egr valve, De cat the exhaust, some people remove the middle box for a straight through pipe (too noisey for me tho'), clean intercooler and associated hoses (or fit silicone ones) some peeps clean the intake manifold as well, after that its larger intercooler and a chip.

Start with an intercooler flush and replacing any tatty hoses - as those are normal servicing jobs you don't have to tell your insurer and your premium will not go up ;)
A 5l bottle of paraffin will enable you to flush it twice. I did mine by buying a good spare part, cleaning that, and then swapping them. I was then able to use the recovered paraffin to flush the original, so I have a spotless spare to swap over when I feel the need to do so.

Replace the viscous fan with an electric one. Amazing how much power the old viscous sucks out. As long as he is not towing a caravan he should not have any problems. Can do it on the cheap as well by doing down the tat yard and purloining an electric fan off something else.

thanks for the prompt replys i,ll pass these on
cheers kevin

Fit a boost regulator to the turbo. Even if you don't increase the boost it will stop waste gate creep at mid boost making the car more driveable.
