Title: engine oil infecting td5 ecu "under the seat"
Post by: paul rendall on April 17, 2005, 00:39:01
it would seem engine oil is being forced through the injector loom, all the way to our ecu plug under the drivers seat.we know the loom starts inside the rocker cover, does anyone know if loom replacement will cure the problem,or is there an underlying engine breather fault????

any help would be much appreciated.

I had that problem on my Discovery.  Replacing the part of the loom which runs into the injectors solved the problem.  You can replace the whole loom, but it's more difficult, and there's not much point - the oil left in the loom won't do any harm.

I don't think there's a permanent repair.  It may happen again;  but then, it may not.
Title: thanks
