Title: Winding up the pump. (300tdi)
Post by: john656 on March 14, 2010, 21:37:36
Thinking of winding up the fuel pump on my disco just to give it a bit more poke and drivability.
Someone on here must have done it... any tips photos? Been doing some digging around but the more tips the better.

Cheers

John

do it at your own risk and even more so without upgraded intercooler, this document on my website tells all you need to know  http://www.stonefisk.com/doc-arc/def_man/ThermoGuard_Tdi_Tuning_Rev.2.pdf

Fit an EGT gauge and don't let it get to high else you'll kill your turbo.

would small changes push the EGTs up to dangerous levels? Say 90 deg on the diaphragm and 180 on the screw.. or maybe just the smoke screw?

Someone did ours before we bought it.  It smokes quite a bit when you give it some but it does shift.  I've put a big intercooler on it now.

Well i tweaked mine about half a turn on the power screw and about 40 degree's on the diaghram. It does 30 mpg and made it alot better to drive,    :D

I also did this before the above  =; 2 full turns on the power screw and 90 degree's on the diaghram but soon put it back to how it was due to excessive smoke and heat.  :-.

Just be very careful on what you do ?
