It's a Damper - bin it, you won't notice the difference

Its the harmonic damper for damping harmonics.

Or for absorbing vibrations from the axle to stop them going through the steering back to the steering wheel.

As has been said already, its a harmonic damper.

When I fitted my QT diff guards I had to remove it and i've not noticed any difference.
