We have a flight booked for 7/6/10 to Chicago with American Airlines and were told at the time of booking that we can take two bags each free as checked in luggage.
Imagine my suprise to find out that they have now changed this to one free bag each and then $50 each for the other two.
WHAT A CON [-X [-X [-X

Christ that's a change!!
We fly almost all the time with American Airlines and we have never had a restriction on the amount of bags! Last time coming home we ended up buying two more suitcases because of the shopping so checked in 8 cases for three of us, no problem!

When you booked your flight you agreed to the current terms and conditions set out at the time of purchase.
If they have altered those terms and conditions you are entitled to a complete refund, or agreement of alteration, or you should be able to argue keeping the original terms.
Have you been in contact with AA and have you still got all the documentation from the purchase?

Apparently if you booked your ticket before the 14th September 2009 your not effected.

If you bought your ticket after that and were told otherwise you were mis-sold the tickets.

Yep, so hear is the nub of the con. I paid for the flights in July but it took ages for the tickets to arrive and on them they say
" ticketed date - 14/9/2009".
So thats why I'm ******* fuming

But your bank statement will show when you paid?
