Post by: westy 90 on March 17, 2010, 20:49:38
Having trouble removing my drop and off the power steering pump on my 90. Tyred it with a pulling toll but no joy and good old [!Expletive Deleted!] hitting it. Any ideas on getting it off ??

I ended up buying a new arm and cutting the old one off carefully with a mini grinder.

loosen the nut some of the way and then go for a short drive, works wonders, if that still doesnt work, try bumping the odd curb with the nut slightly loosened

Remove steering box.... not as bad a job as I thought... and get some heat on the arm... or rather a lot of heat... and start hitting it with a punch and hammer... and it will just ping off... just done mine last week.... though still have to install the new arm and put it all back together.... just another job Ive been putting off....

I used a two arm puller. Then used two large chissels a tapped them between the arm & steering box! Came off a treat.
