Just a thought, if steering seems odd at times could be down to excessive play in the swivels preload if these are the ones that came on the 300tdi axles??

Steering could be the steering swivels that need adjusting, or that your old ones needed adjusting. A well set up axle won't necessarily self-centre fully.
It could also be the toe-in that is set differently.
Rear end roll is controlled by the springs and the anti roll bar. Unless these were changed there should be no difference. The front end is affected by the radius arm bushes, were these renewed?
