Title: Suspension lift nuts and bolts????
Post by: sirloincloth on March 27, 2010, 17:31:06
I've gradually got all the bits together to do a 2" lift on my 300tdi. Before I start the job, I need some advice on what nuts and bolts or other bits n bobs I might need. I don't want to get half way through the job and have to stop for the want of a 10p item.

All I'm fitting to start with is springs, shocks, turrets, bump stops and damper bushes.

Any tips welcome, Thanks.

I would say that you have it all there if you are using the old nuts and bolts aswell

When doing the front shocks try and do it without taking the turret off. Usually when removing the turret, the studs on the turret ring snap off.

Just fit a H/D welded bolt ring for the front turret, the OE ones are made from cheese.

Make sure you use the imperial threaded bolt in the rear trailing link bush, the front axle swapped to metrci thread in the 1980s, the back axle didn't, for a reason.
