Just try to use flavours that the other fisherman arnet useing, the carp will soon find your bait as its giveing off a differant aroumer in the water and if they like it ( carp will eat anything ) you should soon be catching. Good luck. :D

have you tried making a toastie but putting in it a raw whipped-up egg?? it cooks as a scrambled egg toastie.... yum

Add to it some cheese and small spring onions..... lovely
Title: anyone else on here like bovril???

Funny you should ask - I went off Bovril after I realised it was packed with the wholesome goodness of spinal cord & entrails, but now they've reinvented it as a vegetable-based product I bought a jar the other day.  I'll have to try it!

now heres a thing, what is the best way to do a cheese on toast??

I like to do mine this way

2 slices of bread buttered
Place the slices butter side together to make a 'plain' sandwich
toast under the grill on one side
turn over when done
place the cheese on it, sprinkle the Daddies sauce then back under the grill til cooked

Lovely....

It is the method we used when I was a lad and has now got the name of 'Grannie Spesh (short for special)' after my mum :) God Bless her :)

Very good like that with chopped onion under the cheese

Well, sorry to say, but you've got it slightly wrong

Grill the toast on one side.  Then butter the other side, and grill it butter-side-up, but only lightly.

Meanwhile, get some strong cheddar and put it in a food mixer with some double cream and Coleman's mustard.  Whizz it up.  Spoon onto the golden sizzling toast and grill again.  Unbeatable!

I also did some demon Croque Messieurs at college - I was a bit of a legend.  In fact, I was the Toastmeister, because I also had a 6-slice industrial toaster, which was the envy of the whole college.

I Like Bovril on toast although I’ve never had it as a drink.

You can't beat mayonnaise and tomato sauce mixed (50/50 mix) for dipping your chips in. Anyone else tryed it?

Banana and marmite buttes, used to make em when I was touring not had one since.

Vegemite and Marmite are different...  You can buy both over here.  I like Vegemite better, by a whisker.

This thread provoked me into making some Bovril on toast.  I'm impressed they managed to capture the good old beefy taste even though they've got rid of all the cow ingredients.  Thumbs up.

When I was about 7, my friend's mum offered me a butterscotch sandwich.  (The mind boggles.)  Of course, no self-respecting 7-year-old could resist a butterscotch sandwich.  It was revolting.  I've not touched butterscotch since.
