anyone on here use one or can recommend one?
been told by the missus we must have a tumble drier and washing machine asap as my 10 year old hotpoint washer drier is about to give up the ghost
needs to be a condenser jobby as not easy to put in a vent where the driers going

Bosch....
-
AEG - Ours just keeps going and going.
What ever one you get, make sure you clean the fluff out of the condenser on a regular basis.

We got a hotpoint one for about £180, but took out the 5 years cover, which i would highly recommend as it costs nowt to get em fixed when they inevitably go wrong!!

We got our AEG second hand (probably about 7th hand in all honesty) for £30 about 3 years ago. Hasn't failed once. Something for German engineering.
Keep away from Indecit though - poorly built is an understatement.

The only negative comment I have about them is the amount of heat they kick out. Ours is in the kitchen and it gets unbearable sometimes.

rubbish all of them they neither job well we tried loads and they were all the same, gone back to a washing machine and a tumble drier as seperate items work far better

Are you talking about washer dryers or condenser tumble dryers ;) Condenser tumble dryers have a heat exchanger and an internal water tank so you don't need to run a pipe to the outside of the building. Means that your not limited on where you can put one. They are generally accepted to be not as reliable as normal tumble dryers but as long as they are looked after (cleaned) then there should be no issues.

Our condenser drier always steamed the kitchen up,its now in the garage keeping me warm when working on the landys!!!!!
-
Just as an idea: How abouit a normal (vented) tumble drier with a condenser box??
You can fetch the boxes for less than £10 and the driers themselves are about half the price of the condenser ones.
Only my 2p.

i have a hotpoint in the hallway and i now use it to warm the hallway when its on turning the radiator off, this is my second hotpoint the first was from a skip the owner had it two years then said it didn't work so was throwing it, the condensing unit hadn't been cleaned out, so i did this and it was fine for two years costing me nowt. i have had the new one 2 years now, i wouldn't have a tumble drier again!

Bosch....
Picked up one this afternoon and although it was a few quid more the bosch stuff has a very good reputation, let hope it is as hassle free as my bosch dishwasher.

Can hear mine drying away as I type....

I agree each machine is totally different.
The condensor jobbies are more prone to go wrong, so I am told, dont they use more leccy?
What about putting the dryer in the shed if no room in the house?
Our Creda is 15 years old, just fitted a new belt, greased the bearings, new thermostst total cost less than £30, easy to repair, should last another 15 years
