Hi folks A couple of weeks ago I went and bought a Discovery 3.9 1995 with LPG it needs some work here and there, but I was
aware of that and got it as a project. I have spent the last two weeks [spare time] drilling out the spot welds on the near side front
inner wing and replacing with a new one ,[happy as a pig in poo] fortunately the rot was only in the arch above the wheel. Anyway I had to strip out everything attached to the inner wing which went back yesterday .BUT I cannot remember were the hell the small black breather pipe from the rear of the rocker box cover went ,can any body help?.Going to take the dogs for a walk then start
on the off side.

Hi again
Managed to finish the inner wings sunday got the car running what a relief felt sure I was going to [!Expletive Deleted!] up something. I have
given the inner wings some thick coats of waxoyl underseal do I refit the plastic arches or not if I dont fit them do I have to block the holes in the back of the outer wings?. Also got a set of flexi arches to fit later ,that small breather pipe from the rocker cover pushes
on to a small stub on the side of the air box.

If you're fitting flexi arches leave the plastic liners off as you will be removing them anyway to fit the arches.
-
Thanks for the comment Wheels 244 should I [or can I] fit them once the flexi arches or on?.

Hi Denzil
No, you can bin them.
You cut so much of the wheel arches away for the flexi's that that won't fit afterwards.
I found them to be mud\salt traps anyway which is probably why I've had to replace both inner wings.
It's much easier to hose the mud away from under the arches without them.

Wheels 244
Thank you, my thinking exactly but some its nice to know that you have not lost the plot. Do you think I will have to cover the slots/ holes in the back end of the outer wings were they bolt on next to the front doors to stop the mud and water running out ?.
-
Do you mean the ones that actually bolt the rear of the outer wing to the A post ?
If so, I didn't do anything with mine - just bolted the wing back on minus the plastic liner.

On my LSE that hose goes to a pipe sticking out of the airbox towards the wing, in the lid IIRC.

Yes Wheels244 thats the ones ,I will do the same and see how it goes.
