when were you last off road, did you hit anything to bend the steering bars, maybe even a big pot hole in the road?

have you jacked up the front and checked the wheels for excessive play when attempting to move the steering by hand (ie waggle the road wheel with your hands holding it at the quarter to 3 possition) as this would potentially show up worn steering ball joints. alternativelyuse a bar to check for excessive movment by prying the link rods near the ball joints.

Before I changed the shock abosorbers and the track rod ends mine bounced about on the motorway, especially if there were  the tramlines on lane one.  t is a lot better now but I will be changing the steering damper before long.

Also, what size wheels have you got? Apparently, the 18inch ones are a bit prone to helping discos wander

It's on 16 inch wheels were standard tires are 235/70/16 mine are 245/75/16 I cheacked all the front of it tonight but I'll have a look over the rear tmz night
I'll be on the same bit of motoway this weekend but with the wobbly box on the back ( caravan )

this wondering is it like you get stuck in a rut and bounce from side to side

Mine used to do exactly that. Changed the track rod bar and shock absorbers and it improved greatly. Just need to change the steering damper and at some point the uj on the steering column (in the engine bay) as there is a bit of play in that as well

So it's everything bein a little worn  under it I notised the bump stops apper to make contact with the axle quite a bit cuz the axle is really clean in that area
