Hi I am not usually in this section on the forum but I have a couple of questions for you Disco owners.
On a 300 TDI Disco What mods would I have to do to get some 35" tyres underneath it ?
What would the Gearing be like with 35" mud tyres on ?
How much lift can you have before you have to fit Cranked Arms ?
With a large lift will it be unstable and likely to roll over ? I guess it would be alot more stable then a suzuki still
Thanks in advance guys n girls.

I think that you will have to have about a 3" suspension lift and possibly a body lift as well in order to fit 35's. I know there will be a lot of cutting around the wheel arches to get clearance for them.
The standard tyres on a disco are about 29.5" so with 35's you wont be using 5th gear very much! (Maybe downhill with a good tail wind) You will have to fit a defender transfer box or better still, change the diffs.
Once you go over a 2" lift you will probably need the cranked arms, but you may not. Each truck is different!
A large lift like that will raise the centre of gravity, so side-slopes should be tackled with a certain amount of respect.
Having said all that, it is all do-able and there will be others on here who have actually done this. Someone with more intimate knowledge of the subject will probably be along with more accurate info. :-k It would make an interesting project.

Hi Mate
I have a 300 tdi with 35/12.5/15 Pro-comp X Terrains and have the following:-
2" body lift (from Wizard on here)
2" suspension lift
Cranked front and rear arms
Wide angle props
Extended brake pipes
Flexi arches
Wheel spacers
Cut down Scorpion front bumper (tyres catch otherwise)
Defender transfer box (waste of time with the disco one)
+5" shocks with challenge mounts.
You need the body lift or the tyres hit on extreme articulation.
Whilst the vehicle is obviously higher, mine also has non-standard wheels, 12.5" wide tyres and wheel spacers so it's also wider which pulls the centre of gravity back down a bit.

I ran 35,s on my old disco tdi com,had 4" lift and cut out arches, cranked and castored arms, ext lines etc. DEF need to do diffs or trans box!! mine went from 84mph down to 64 on 35,s!!!!
New ones on 33,s at mo with cranked rear arms,ext lines,castor3 frt,double card prop,5" lift,-3 rear shock mounts,+5" shocks,flexi arches and 10" rims,oh and binned the ARB,s! =;

hi bazz just a thought when my mate was looking at 35's very few makes are actualy 35inches most are smaller by quite a bit he has 6 inch total lift using +springs blocks and 2inch body lift and alot of cutting of the arches disco box only used in lo as he cant pull away in 1st high just used off road though
1 have 265 75 16 as you saw they are as much as i would go with a road truck

I'd suggest a suspension lift of about 2" then a body lift, that way you get more articulation but keep the C of G lower, the chassis/drivetrain is the heavy bit, plus you might not need cranked arms and fancy props depending on how it drives.
Blue is on 235/85s with 2" lift and on roundabouts the land meter goes off the scale, it's still very stable unless you do the "elk" test ie induce a pendulum effect, then it gets a bit hairy.
As aid above, big tyres really need wider rims, for both stability and clearence at full lock.
