Title: Painting Galvanized
Post by: baz2236 on April 21, 2010, 19:05:01: Hi people whats the best way to paint a galvanized piece of metal. I want to get rid of the dull silvery colour and pain it black, Can i do it with etch primer and then normal rattle cans over the top. Any Ideas.

As my primer and then a couple of coats of plasticoat or hammerite.

It might last a few weeks :(

Galv needs special prep.
1) T-wash
2) etch primer
3) primer
4) top coat.

other option is shot blast and powdercoat but @ £13 a tin get i'd get a price
