Title: disco 300tdi jap import

hi all, my mate has got a 300tdi jap import disco and it is running like a bag of cack. it has got an EGR on it but its not like one ive seen before, now the question is can it be removed like a normal one? it also has an air flow meter on it that ive never seen on a 300tdi before and im just wondering weather you can remove all these bits and put (normal) 300tdi stuff on??? its an auto by the way.

No, it sounds like it's got EDC, fitted to Autos in the Uk for more power and better emissions, carried over to all 300TDi later on IIRC.

The injectors cost way more, the front one especially, it has a MAF like a V8 and other sensors too.  It has an ECU that can be checked, not sure how.

EGR, just fit a blanking plate to the pipe flange.
