Before you take your car apart change the batteries in the fob. My little light on the fob was even coming on, but a new set of batteries cured my problems. There is however a teeny problem that can occur sometimes, if you are in the vicinity of a radio transmitter and you would be suprised how many there are, signals can effectively jam your very low power Central Locking Remote.

i have just put new batteries in the remote
but it had not been used for god nows how long
so i have a thread on here alarm remote
it needs to be paired with the alarm again
and part of this is getting the central locking to fire
so need to get it working for two reasons

Just seen the rest of the other thread. Ignoring the remote for now, is the central locking working from the drivers door now?
-
no i have nothing at all :!: :?:

Last question for now as going out, If when sitting in car you press the locking button on the drivers door, do the other doors lock?
-
nope :!: :?:

Sounds as though the either the Door Lock Actuator has died or the fuse has gone that feeds it. If you can find fuse C3 (15A) it will be feeding the brown/pink wire into the drivers door locking actuator. This should have power on it at all times not from the ignition. If your Disco is pre March 94 the fuse will be in-line on the feed, if later the fuse is number 4 on the upper fuse panel up in the passenger side. Having said that I think each team of builders on the Disco production line had votes to see where they could hide things......If you get the locks working first then the remote can be sorted after......Best of luck...Dave

my fuse box is under the steering column
is there another one on the passenger side :?:

Mine is post March94 and there are another 2 fuse blocks under the panel above the passenger footwell?
-
I know what you mean about hiding things ..
me and mz666 have the same model disco from the same year but the bonet handles are in different places mines on the drivers side and mz666's is on the passenger side :?
