The indicators on a mates 200 disco aren't working, fuse had blown, but every time the fuse is replaced it blows straight away when the ignition is switched on , almost as if the fuse is permanantly live ? !
The stalk is working for every other function, lights, horn etc but could it still be that, relay stuck on ?
Any ideas please ?

Relay or switch might be damaged, as might the hazard switch.

Thanks Andy, swapped the stalk and still happening, hazard relay and lights are working fine, gone off to get an indicator relay now............

I'm not sure if the MFU has anything to do with the indicators, but they are connected to the alarm too, or does it have an aftermarket alarm?
In any case I'n unplug the relay, switch and hazard switch, replace the fuse and then put the switches/relay back one at a time 'till it blows again.
Let me know if you can't get a relay, I have a spare somewhere.

Could it be something as simple as water in an indicator shorting them out?
Not had this on me landy BUT on my Citroen Picasso(i know ) I kept blowing the indicator fuse, couldnt for the life of me work out why untill I noticed the goldfish bowl that used to be my rear indicator.
There was a small crack in the top of the lense and no drain holes so it just filled up almost to the top of the lense with rain water...and there big lenses and because it was so full i never noticed the water line.........
Worth a look

Thanks for the advice, turns out the same fuse also works the air-con and reversing lights.Did as you say Andy and by process of elimination... there must be a short in the reverse switch wire, somewhere ? disconnected the reverse switch and no more blown fuses.
Another job tracing the short one day.

Quite possibly it's frayed on the gearbox somewhere, now you know what it is it won't be too hard to figure out. I suspect it won't get done 'till the nights get darker though ;)
