yes you will. And the hand brake cable.
If the speedo is of the electric type on the r380 take the mechanical speedo drive off the LT77 box and fit it to the R380 box.
wizard

R380 will bolt in in place of the LT77. Both fit either the LT230 or Borg-Warner T-box.
Later models have differnet crossmembers, though I've seen 2 types on V8s with LT77, it's more to do with exhausts than gearboxs, the 3.9 had a bigger pipe than the 3.5 and later cars with R380s also had catalysts.
The early 3.5 crossmember should fit fine if you have that.

i swapped my busted r380 for a low mileage lt77 without any problems, the only difference is where reverse is, altho i think the r380 is a better gearbox........ps its a 300tdi disco

After buying mine I realised it had been fitted with an R380 (its a 1991 J plate Disco) As far as I can see the only thing is the length of the bellhousing?

That's something to check. I don't know why they were differnet but the TDi R380 props were different (shorter IIRC) to my spare V8 props on the LT77. I think it might be the TDI rather than the R380 that dictates propshaft length but if anyone knows for sure I'd love to know.

confused what route to take now :-k

go for it, when the LT77 gives up im going straight back to a R380
